Restorative Dentistry

Whenever possible, our Alderley dentists provide conservative treatment options that retain as much of the natural tooth as possible. Inlays and onlays are indirect restorations that we create in a single visit to the clinic. We will perform an exam and take x-rays to determine the proper treatment option for you.

Alderley Dental, located just north of Brisbane, recommends inlays or onlays when the area to be treated is too large for a filling, but too small for a crown. Inlays and onlays perform a similar function as a filling and a crown, essentially repairing a broken or decayed tooth and restoring the strength and function.

We recommend inlays or onlays when the area to be treated is too large for a filling but too small for a crown.

Inlays and onlays use porcelain (not the composite resin of tooth-coloured fillings), as this is a sturdier material for the larger space, giving our patients a functional and long-term solution to broken or decayed teeth.

To learn more about inlays and onlays, contact Alderley Dental to arrange an appointment. Our experienced dentists will find the proper restoration for your oral health needs.
